TMP117: Response time of one shot measurement

Part Number: TMP117

I would like to confirm that a one shot measurement on the TMP 117 has started.

I believe I can do this by reading back the MOD bits in the configuration register.

How long does it take after receiving the one shot command to indicate one shot conversion mode in the MOD bits.

  • Dear Keith -

Thanks for the post and welcome to E2E!

The conversion starts when you set the MOD bits (bits 10 & 11) to 11b in the configuration register.

The data ready bit (bit 13) in the configuration register can then be read for indication as to if data is ready (or not).

Conversion time for one shot is typically 15.5mSec (min = 13mSec, max  = 17.5mSec),
