MMWAVE-STUDIO: System disconnected problem and captured data wrong size

Part Number: MMWAVE-STUDIO
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DCA1000EVM, AWR1642BOOST, AWR1642

Hi, TI team,

I'm trying to use AWR1642boost + DCA1000EVM module + MMWAVE_STUDIO  02_01_01_00 to captured raw data for object detection. And something goes wrong while setup the overall device:

1. It has very high possibility get system connection fail, here is the log from output command:

Note:

=> I have achieve connection successfully 2 times and also capture raw data already, but most of the time (after shut down and re-connection) it still got failure! I have no idea what went wrong.

=> I still cannot defined my problem goes for after reading the "1588.DCA1000 Debugging Handbook" file.

2. After system connection succeed, the raw data size is incorrect. And no matter what NO of chirp loop and NO of frames I change from one to another, the data size still remain un-change.

3. According to my AWR1642 device and setup,  the 2Tx-4Rx have 8 channels results, but I can only select Chan1~4 to see the results by using PostProc function. How can I change the setup to see other 4 channel?

I'm looking forward for your guidance.

Many thanks.

Shihyu.

  • Hello Shihyu,

Lets address your concerns one at a time.

On your first one, I can see you're not able to properly connect to the DCA1000 capture card. It is not able to read the FPGA version.

Have you tried all the below debug methods mentioned in the debugging guide :

On the captured raw data file size, can you send in your configuration file? The data size should change based on the number of chirps/frames configured in the device.

    Regards,

    Ishita
