Hi all,

I would like to supply the AWR2243BOOST 5V from another PCB.

What is the power consumption for the 5V rail?

Namely, how much current should I be able to provide given the following configuration:

- 3 TXs on

- 4 RXs on

- ADC 16bit complex mode

- Data path over 4 CSI lanes at 600Mbps

Hello Ron,

In general the recommended power supply for the AWR2243BOOST is 5V, >2.5A. This is captured in the user guide.

Do you have an estimation/simulation how much current will be sourced given the configuration I use?

Hello Ron,

From AWr2243 IC point of view the worst case current consumption would be based on the table 8.3 in the AWR2243 datasheet ( https://www.ti.com/lit/gpn/awr2243). This includes the use case you have mentioned above.

But the AWR2243BOOST PCB has many other components on the board and those would take additional current. We have not measured other component currents as such since we focus on the AWR2243 device, so we cannot provide an estimate of the exact current consumed by the complete EVM. We surely know it would be < 2.5A at 5V. Hence the recommendation of using > 2.5A power supply. In high probability it would work with 2A supply also.
