PGA460: Schematic using Single-ended

Part Number: PGA460

Hi!

I'm developing a project with PGA460, but the transformer I have available doesn't have central-tap on the primary.
I read in the PGA460 datasheet about single-ended configuration for transformer without tap-central, but I didn't find a schematic example.
I am using the single-ended configuration with the OUTA pin connected to the transformer. Should I leave the OUTB pin not connected?

Thank you for your help!

  • Hi Gabriel,

    Thank you for your question.

You are correct in the configuration of the transformer. Implementing a single ended transformer will require the one of the OUT pins left floating and the other connected to the transformer. Note you will generate less excitation voltage using a single ended transformer compared to a center tap option.

Please let me know if you have any questions,

    Thank you,

    Jacob
