IWR6843ISK: False object heights information

Hello everybody,

I have a IWR6843ISK with the MMWAVEIC-Carrier Card.

My Antenna is mounted about 0.89 meters above the ground and I have a beverage box in 5 meter distance in front of the antenna.

If I look at the point cloud with RVIZ, I get the information that the box is about 1.5 meters high. In reality it is only 0.4 meters high.

Does somebody know, where these false information do come from or which config-params I have to change so that I get the right information.

Sorry typing error: the height of the box is 0.3 meters

Hello,

Have you tried running the OOB demo prior to using the ROS driver example? If not, then I would try that and play around with the configuration parameters for the radar device and see how it effects performance. Then when you have some experience then tune for your specific scenario.

Hello,

There are configuration files that end with the file extension ".cfg". Every time you run our demos the device has to be configured. These configurations and they associated parameters are detailed in the following resource:

SDK User Guide: Section 3-4
