IWR1843BOOST: Solid object detection in bin

To start, please have a look at the High Accuracy Level Sensing lab we offer as a part of the Industrial Radar Toolbox:

For this lab, you will not need the DCA1000.  Currently, there is no support for this lab to run on IWR1843BOOST (as you will see when you visit the link to the Toolbox).  You will need to port this lab to run on IWR1843.  For this you should look to be using the SDK 3.5.

Once you have a look at the toolbox and what we offer for the level sensing solution, please let me know if you have further questions.

Our test object is a solid silo instead of a liquid. What I want to confirm is whether the solid material detection can be achieved based on the existing equipment?If it can be achieved, how should it be achieved?If this is not possible, what equipment should we buy?

Any of the offerings listed on the Industrial Toolbox that I linked in my previous reply will allow you to achieve solid level sensing.  You could run it on the IWR1843, but like I mentioned before, you would need to port the lab for that specific device.  A key detail for solid level sensing is that you will need to enable multiple tx and/or multiple rx on the device when developing your application.

The demo program of 4 radar boards is given in the case. I want to know if I can port one of these programs to iwr1843boost for demonstration. If so, which program should I use and which parameters need to be modified?

download the version 2.9.1 toolbox and unzip it. 

and you will find the lab003 in mmwave_automotive_toolbox_2_9_1\labs\lab0003_occupancy_detection

I mean click the download button of 2.9.1 and you will get a zipped package. which name is (mmwave_automotive_toolbox_2_9_1__win.zip).  if you unzip the file and you will find lab003 in the this path

Thank you very much for your help, I have found the relevant documents。Now I compare the two files od_demo_16xx_4zone_strong.cfg and od_demo_18xx_4zone_strong.cfg  and see some parameter changes as shown in the figure below.

The problem I have now is:

1.Which software is the XX.cfg file compiled by? Is it ccs or mmwavestidio or other software？

2.What is the specific meaning of each parameter in the od_demo_16xx_4zone_strong.cfg file? For example, what does chirpCfg 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 mean? May I ask what information I should refer to, can you send it to me?

3.How to write a cfg file according to my project requirements? How to find relevant reference materials？

CFG file is sent to the sensor via uart port by GUI (for example demo_visualizer) and the CLI related functions extracts useful parameters from the serial data received.

it is not compiled.

Most lines  need to check SDK user guide.  Some specific lines need to check demo user guide.

We are ready to repurchase a new millimeter wave radar board according to your recommended case。The problem now is that I don’t know which radar board to buy.

Based on the questions I asked in the forum, can you recommend me which radar board should be purchased on the premise of meeting the needs of use?

I have already purchased IWR1843BOOST before, so I hope that the newly purchased radar board can be connected with IWR1843BOOST to facilitate our further development and use in the future.
