AWR1843BOOST: USB stop working

I purchased AWR1843BOOST (AWR1843ABGABLQ1 ES2.0 , s/n 5866600067) and was using until recently when USB port start to hang down from time to time. Finaly it stop working (No data transfer/5V supply).

I contact Mouser electronics where I purchased it in 2019 and received:

Our apologies, but this invoice is from 2019 and beyond our policy limits
This would go back to the manufacturer

Is there anything TI can do to get board repaired/replaced?

Hello,

Can you check to see if the AWR1843 device is still powering on properly by probing the VBGAP capacitor and seeing if this measures 0.9V?

If the AWR1843 device is still working properly, you could try replacing the TM4C MCU on the board since it is likely an issue with the TivaC USB controller.

Hi Adrian,

When supplied from USB, there is no 0.9Vdc from VBGAP capacitor (C56). When on external supply there is 0.9Vdc, however USB port is not working.

Is there (U10 - TPD4E004 4-Channel ESD-Protection Array) USB protection issue?

Hello,

On the AWR1843BOOST, there is no 5V supply coming from the USB connector. 5V is only supplied through P6 connector. So, the behavior is expected that VBGAP would not be powered up when only USB is connected, what you have measured is expected.

The ESD protection should not cause any issues. Can you please try following the steps in the below link to flash the XDS110 and provide a screenshot of your console output?

Can you also measure the voltage on R133 and make sure you see 3.3V when you power the board on?

Hello,

flashing XDS110 as per link steps--> XDS110 supported devices not found:

Voltage on R133 when powered on is 0V. Voltage on C29,C30, C31 are 3.25Vdc.
