IWR1843BOOST: About FOV and MIMO of IWR1843 BOOST

Part Number: IWR1843BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1843,

Hi team,

Please tell us about FOV and MIMO of IWR1843 BOOST.

1. Does IWR1843BOOST transmit with the angle of the beam using the phase shifter of the transmitting antenna?

2. The FOV of IWR1843 BOOST is ± 60 °. What is the rationale?

3. What is the definition of FOV?

  - Is FOV the angle at which the beam swings in the phase shifter?

  - Or is FOV only an element of Rx antenna spacing?
     θmax = ± sin-1 (λ / 2d)

  - Is there anything else.

4. About beam angle and MIMO

  - Is it a 2x4 MIMO even if the beam angle is set by two Tx antennas?

  - Or is MIMO 1x4 because it is considered as one beam?

Best regards,

Toshi
