Hi Ti Support Team,

Good Day!

We are testing the AWR1843BOOST EVM for our ADAS Solution, I have read in Articles that AWR1843 can be connected to Computer using CAN-FD connection, but we are using the USB Data Cable to connect AWR1843BOOST EVM to Computer to obtain range and velocity of the Obstacles.

Can you please let me know the difference between getting data Using CAN-FD(using Peak Systems Interface) vs Using USB Cable?

Can you please let me know, how to connect the AWR1843BOOST to Vehicle ECU? Is there any method/ process available with TI??

Or Do you know any typical hardware connectors used??

Can you please enlighten me?

Hi,

Yes, you can use CAN-FD to connect to a Host ECU.

CAN-FD allows for a higher data rate.

If you are running the TI mmWave SDK demo, the data is transferred through UART (through USB cable)

Our support team can answer questions regarding the silicon and sw provided by TI.

Communication with ECU is usually implemented by system integrator.

Our support does not extensive knowledge regarding this topic

Hi Cesar,

Can you please let me know, if I connect and view / modify data from Vehicle CAN Bus using CAN-FD(with the help of PEAK Systems connectors)

Can you please check with your support team and let me know about the software used to communicate with CAN and also Can you please list me few system integrators.

Our support team does not have knowledge in this field. Please contact PCAN support team.

We have a basic demo available that shows how to send output data through CAN.

It is provided in the TI Resource Explorer
