AWR2944: Max current info in average power consumption test condition

Part Number: AWR2944
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1843

Hi,

My customer found there is average power consumption info in AWR2944 datasheet. They would like to know know the max current for each power rails in below test condition. Would you pls kindly provide related info?

Would you pls also provide the max current for each power rails in power consumption test condition for AWR1843?

BTW, customer also saw the max current info in datasheet, but they also want to know the current info of the power consumption test.

Thanks,

Chris

  • Hello Chris,

The maximum possible current for each of the power rails is documented in Table 8-3 in AWR2944 Datasheet and Table 5-3 in AWR1843 Datasheet. For the conditions mentioned in the power consumption usecase, the device is a typical device (Nominal device) and the measurement is at 25C. I will need some time to find the current information if that is required.

For the maximum current table, the measurement is according to a worst case device at 140C junction temperature.

Yes. Pls help to get it. Customer insisted on having the info.

  • Hello Chris,

Sure, I will get back to you next week on this.

    Hope that's okay.

  • Hello Chris,

If the Customer needs the max current consumption for the board design, please refer to the table in the datasheet and not the below values.

For the conditions and the devices (NOM Device, typical voltage conditions, 25C Ambient Temperature) used to quote the Average Power consumption in the AWR2944 datasheet, below were the rough peak current consumption numbers :

    1.8V Power Rail - 500mA

    1.2V Power Rail - 1A

    1V RF1 and RF2 rail - 1.6A

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • Ishita,

    Thanks for your reply.

Do you have the max current for each power rails in power consumption test condition for AWR1843?

  • Hi Chris,

The power consumption table in the AWR1843 Datasheet has an update. The latest datasheet will be released next week on TI.com. Below is a snippet I'm attaching for the customer's reference from the in progress rough draft.

For the conditions and the devices (NOM Device, typical voltage conditions, 25C Ambient Temperature) used to quote the Average Power consumption in the AWR1843 datasheet, below are the rough peak current consumption numbers :

    1.8V Power Rail - 650mA

    1.2V Power Rail - ~600-700mA

    1V RF1 and RF2 rail - ~1.7-8A

    Regards,

    Ishita
