IWR6843AOPEVM: 3D People Counting Demo with Vital Signs not working

Part Number: IWR6843AOPEVM

I have flashed the standalone IWR6843AOPEVM with Vital_Sign_3D_people_count 68xx_demo.bin (dipswitch On)

Then ran the gui_main_vital_sign (dip switch OFF)

Cannot connect to com ports

If I reverse the COM ports order, it does connect, and config file can be loaded. But the application does not run.

Do I need the Boost carrier card to run the 3D people counting with vital demo?

in the user guide, it says it can be run in standalone mode.

Can you pls tell the reason why a boost carrier is needed?

This is because of the baud rate limit of CP2105 on IWR6843AOPEVM

An ICBOOST is currently necessary to run this demo in industrial toolbox 4.10.

Hi Ken,

My apologies but this was an error in the User's Guide. The device does need the ICBOOST at this time.

There are two reasons the ICBOOST helps the demo function.

1. the demo uses multiple TX antennas at a time so either a powered USB signal (something with more than the power supplied from a PC USB port) or the ICBOOST is needed to power the antennas

2. The baud rate on the UART line is past what is supported by the AOP EVM (as you mention above)
