IWR1443BOOST: Running Vital Signs Lab

Part Number: IWR1443BOOST

I'm trying to follow the steps of this Vital Signs Lab tutorial, using an IWR1443BOOST https://training.ti.com/mmwave-vital-signs-lab

However, at the step when I had to flash this image: xwr12xx_xwr14xx_radarss.bin, I was met with an "Image Loading Failed.  Aborting flashing of specified files." error.  This is using mmWave SDK version 2.01.

I then tried to bypass this by skipping that specified image, and loaded the debug image only.  This was successful, but when I followed the guide and created a target config file, I ended up with a runtime error when I ran the lab.

Am I using the right SDK version for this module?

Thanks.

  • Hello,

The SDK version for the Vital Signs Lab using the IWR1443BOOST is 2.01.00.04 so it sounds like you are using the correct SDK. I would first try flashing xwr14xx_vitalSigns_lab_mss.bin instead of xwr12xx_xwr14xx_radarss.bn. This is the binary file located at mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_10_0\mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_10_0\labs\Vital_Signs\14xx_vital_signs\pjt\Prebuilt_binaries pre-built to run the Vital Signs Lab tutorial using the IWR1443BOOST. To do this follow the steps in the following quick start guide: https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=AMQPNw7.kpk8wwkGhWDXpQ__VLyFKFf__LATEST

Could you also share your target config file with me?

If you run into any issues or need help with your next steps after this please let me know!

    Sincerely,

    Angie

  • Hi,

How do I attach my target config file here?

  • Hi Paul,

My apologizes. I was asking for the runtime error you get when you ran the lab after creating the target config file.

Have you been able to run the lab with the bin file and quickstart guide I mentioned above?

    Thank you,

    Angie Mitchell

  • Here's the console output when the error occured.

    [Cortex_R4_0] **********************************************

As for running the lab with the bin file you mentioned, the module is with my lab partners at this time, so I will get to it as soon as I can get hold of the unit.  Thanks for your help.

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

Thank you for sharing the error. Please let me know how the bin file mentioned works once you are able to test.

    Sincerely,

    Angie
