Hi I am trying to implement the concept of beam steering in the out of box demo and I found this cfg example in

ti/mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_8_0/labs/long_range_people_detection/68xx_long_range_people_det/docs/Beamforming_in_LRPD page 4

My question is why the value 7 in the tx antenna enable mask parameter in chirp cfg and another question is why when I try this configuration it doesn't detect any value of z ( all points detected possess z = 0 almost)

HI, there:

Note that in TDM MIMO mode, you enable one TX at one time and you will program 3 chirps. You will have total 12 virtual antenna in TDM-MIMO mode. You should have one example like this configuration as well.

In the example you mentioned (TX beamforming mode), all three TX are enabled at the same chirp with different phase rotation to steer to a certain angle. In the ISK board, all the 4 RX channel are with the same elevation level, so no elevation information can be detected.
