AWR2243: How the SYNCIN LO power impact on the 77GHz output power

Hi team,

Customer is asking How the SYNCIN LO power impact on the 77GHz output power?

The spec requiements in the AWR2243 datasheet is output power of LO is +3 to +7dBm, the input LO power request -6dBm.

Can you please provide the figure to shown what's the performance imapct when the LO input power is less than -6dBm?

And what's the Max input power limited here?

Hi,

The datasheet outlines the maximum and minimum input and output from SYNC OUT/IN LO signals, and I would not recommend operating beyond those levels. Especially going below -6dbm power of SYNC signal may impact/limit performance of 2243 device. We may not be able to quantify the impact.

Is that means while the LO input power is less than the -6dBm, then the impact on each device is case by case? It's not a fixed value??

Hi Abhed,

Another question is, related to the AWR2243 datasheet, Is it means on the 20GHz LO, the only thing we need to do the to make sure the input power to slave device is higher than -6Bm, right?

Hi,

The recommendation is to stay with in the max and min limit of the LO signal. You need to design and layout the section accordingly. It would be difficult to comment on the impact on RF performance in case of exceeding the defined limits.
