IWR6843ISK: Gating Parameter

Hello Jackson,

I would like to know the effect of the gating parameter. Does it show the maximum physical dimension or minimum of targets? Also the Limit-velocity in gating parameter.

Why the antenna takes more time to track?

Thanks and regards,

Aleena N A

  • Hi Aleena,

I moved this question to its own thread for more visibility in the future.

The gating parameter, plus the gain param in the same command, will set the maximum size of the target. Really it sets the maximum size that points can be allocated to the target. The gating params should be set close to the estimated size of the object, and the gain should be used to accommodate faster or slower moving targets. The velocity limit  sets the max radial velocity for individual points to be included in the target allocation.

Please see the description in the following document for more into.

Can you please clarify your second question about the antenna? I am not sure what you are asking about.

    Regards,

    Jackson
