I'm a rookie to the mmwave field.

I'm trying to replicate some algorithms to detect the falling down behavior. According to reference articles, I guess I'd like to collect the underlying digitals:

['frame number', 'point id', 'target id',
'centroid_x', 'centroid_y', 'centroid_z',
'centroid_vx', 'centroid_vy', 'centroid_vz',
'Range', 'Azimuth angle', 'Elevation angle', 'Doppler', 'SNR', 'Noise level']

The question is:

What devices are necessary for me to deploy this experiment environment.

Is IWR6843AOPEVM enough or do I still need another DCA1000EVM?

Hello,

Welcome to the mmwave field!

I want to make sure you have seen our fall detection using IWR6843 experiment here.

The MMWAVEICBOOST is used in the experiment attached but fall detection can be done with a standalone IWR6843AOPEVM. Benefits of having an MMWAVEICBOOST include more power supplied to the EVM (this can be done by providing a powered USB to the standalone AOP EVM) and a faster baud rate.

Hi Angie,

We are about to purchase the development platform.

I wanna assure that the experiment package could be:

Plan A: a standalone IWR6843AOPEVM

Plan B: IWR6843AOP+ MMWAVEICBOOST

Plan C: IWR6843ISK-ODS + MMWAVEICBOOST (as in the experiment example)

Am I right? Please correct me :-)

If Plan A and B work, could the '3D_people_count_68xx_demo' be loaded as in Plan C?

Hi Woody,

You are correct. All the above configurations can work to do a fall detection demo and the "3D_people_count_68xx_demo" binary from our 3D people counting lab can be loaded to the following devices "IWR6843ISK or IWR6843ISK-ODS or IWR6843AOP or IWR6843L optionally with Industrial mmWave Carrier Board."
