IWR6843ISK: Connect IWR6843ISK (Rev D) with MMWAVEICBOOST

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVEICBOOST, , UNIFLASH

Hello,

We are trying to bring up IWR6843ISK (Rev D) with CCS by connecting to MMWAVEICBOOST. Unlike previous versions, the connector at J2 is missing. How should I go about connecting this board with MMWAVEICBOOST? Is it advisable to solder the connector?

Following TI's hardware setup demo for switch positions (https://training.ti.com/hardware-setup-mmwaveicboost-and-antenna-module?context=1128486-1139154-1147568)

Hardware - IWR6843ISK (Rev D) + MMWAVEICBOOST

Software - CCS (10.4.0.00006) + Uniflash (6.4.0.3394) + MMwave SDK (3.5)

  • Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Texas Instruments. The Revision done to IWR6843ISK was so that it may be connected to the DCA1000 directly using 60 Pin Samtec connector at J8. You could use this combination along with the CCS+Uniflash+MMwave SDK.

Soldering a J2 connector is not advisable.
For the CCS connectivity, JTAG signals are needed, which are provided through the J1 connector. J2 connector provides additional signals for the Debug pins and additional LVDS signals that are not required for the CCS connectivity.

And MMWAVEICBOOST has XDS110 JTAG emulator from which CCS could be connected and code debugging could be done.

    Best,
