How much is the elevation angle? How much is the elevation angle resolution?

Hi,

The elevation angle for AWR2944 EVM can be found in the user-guide available at: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spruj22/spruj22.pdf in section 2.5 where it mentions the elevation angle is plus or minus 5 degrees for 6dB beam width.

The elevation angle resolution is 0.625 degree based on paper calculations.

Hi,

Angle resolution in general is calculated according to the formula given in the pdf: https://training.ti.com/sites/default/files/docs/mmwaveSensing-FMCW-offlineviewing_4.pdf (slide 61). As in AWR2944 EVM based on the user-guide, the elevation antennas in the virtual antenna array (fig 2.15 of https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spruj22/spruj22.pdf ) are 0.8 lambda. We substitute this for 'd' in the equation, number antennas to determine elevation in that direction is 2(N=2) and with cos theta =0 (for best resolution).
