Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVEICBOOST, IWR6843ISK,
Hello,
I am using the DCA1000VEM + MMWAVEICBOOST + IWR6843ISK with HW trigger for a project where trigger timing is highly crucial. The radar is mounted to a moving platform that moves irregularly. However, the movement is tracked and the radar is triggered at regular spatial locations. However, since the motion of the platform is irregular, the timing of the HW triggers are irregular, but remain close to a periodicity of 3 ms.
Previously, I have been using the TSW1400 for data collection, but I now require the DCA1000EVM. With the TSW1400, I can configure the TSW1400 corresponding to the number of frames I am capturing, send the sensorStart command to the radar, and capture the samples regardless of when the HW trigger occurs. Once the TSW1400 buffer is full, I can read the data using HSDC Pro. Given the use case, the fact that the TSW1400 does not timeout is ideal.
For the DCA1000EVM, when no HW triggers occur for more than 1 s, the DCA1000EVM times out and stops sending data over ethernet, regardless of the radar state.
I have tried all the options of "captureStopMode" for the cf.json file under PostProc\ without success.
Is it possible to configure the DCA1000EVM similarly to the TSW1400 such that it will not timeout until the expected number of frames occur? Alternatively, should I pursue a different route to read data off of the radar such as interfacing directly with the radar data UART port and would that support the timing I need around 3 ms framer periodicity?
Thanks,
