AWR1642BOOST: Data streaming options

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST

Hello TI team,

Along many documentations and numerous forum threads, many methods were discussed through the years to stream the data from AWR1642BOOST.

Let us, for verification purposes, summarize it as follows:

1- USB: through UART port which as utilized in the demo visualizer.

2- HD connector: through DCA1000 to stream the raw data using mmWave studio.

3- CAN: through PCAN-USB Adapter.

Does this summarize all the current methods? What is the best/simplest among these methods to stream the data from multiple EVMs to one PC?

We need to stream the data simultaneously from multiple EVMs, construct the radar cube and process it in all three dimensions (3D FFT).

Thank you!

  • Hello,

This does summarize the main methods for getting data out of the device. Additionally, SPI can be used in a similar fashion to UART. Since you are interested in constructing the radar cube the only option you have is to use the DCA1000 and capture raw data. The open question here you will need to synchronize the the desperate sensors to make sure that your data is temporally aligned. This would be an advanced activity and would be beyond the scope of this forum.

    Best,

    Connor Desmond
