MMWCAS-DSP-EVM: MMWCAS-DSP-EVM Linux serial terminal unexpected freezed

Hi,

I was using MMWCAS-DSP-EVM for raw data capture with mmwave studio. The firmware I used was C:\ti\mmwave_studio_03_00_00_14\mmWaveStudio\PlatformBinaries\TDA2Firmware\sdimage_3_7_1.img.xz

I used a USB cable connected to the MMWCAS-DSP-EVM for Linux.

However, the terminal freezed many times unexpected.

I tried to use the user buttons (S1, S2, S3) for reset, power on/off. All didn't work.

I have to unplug the 12V power physically and reboot.

Any suggestions on why the terminal freezed or how to reset the device without unplug the 12V power?

Hi Hang,

Please follow the instruction provided in <mmwave Studio>\doc\mmwave_studio_cascade_user_guide.pdf

Does it not booting when you power cycle the board?

Thanks! That (mmwave_studio_cascade_user_guide.pdf) what I was referring to.

I have to manually unplug the power to shutdown the DSP, the user buttons did not work.

What's more, after unplug the power cable, I have to wait for a while to plug in the power cable for reboot. This is weird to me.

I also found another potential issue that the terminal (using Teraterm) will be freezed after the capture is done using mmwave studio. In that case, there is no way to shutdown the DSP properly unless unplug the power cable. I tried to use the user buttons, it didn't work for me.
