AWR1642: Thermal design to prevent SOC crash with high temperature 85 degree C

Part Number: AWR1642

Our product operation temperature is -40 degree C to +85 degree C.

While we test +85 degree C in chamber, it was found that AWR1642 SOC crash.

Measure the SOC temperature by equipment, SOC temperature is around 121 degree C, it is too high.

We try to add thermal pad which attached the surface of SOC, and graphite conducts heat to the housing. (ME with waterproof IPX7)

Still cannot work well with +85 degree C test environment, but it could PASS by +75 degree C test.

Current solution is just like below figure.

thermal pad -> aluminum sheet -> thermal pad -> graphite -> housing

And we also try to reduce TX output power by profile configuration from 0 to 4, but there is no big effort.

Any good suggestion?
