AMC6821-Q1: Can it be set up to 3000 rpm via rev mode?

Part Number: AMC6821-Q1

Hi Team,

Set up to 1850 revolutions up and down through the speed mode (RPM). PWM (DCY) mode will be better, and the speed can be higher, but because the speed cannot be obtained in this mode, the specific speed value is uncertain. Since the speed setting is normal below 1850, and the pwm mode can also be set normally, it is considered that the i2c communication is normal.
Can it be set up to 3000 rpm via rev mode?

  • Hi Amelie,

Can you please send me a register dump?

    Jalen

  • Hi Jalen,

The following is the register of setting rotating speed 30000. Now the value is 1800.

  • Amelie,

From the register dump it seems that the DCY duty cycle is set to the max of 0xFF. Therefore, I would conclude that the fan is not able to run at a speed higher than 1850 rpm.

Is there a specific reason why the PWM frequency setting is at a lower value? ([6821]:addr=32, reg=0x0)

My one suggestion would be to change the PWM frequency to another setting and seeing if the FAN speed is able to increase further.

    Thanks,

    Jalen
