We need a sensor that can detect rotational angle. We are thinking of a magnet attached to the rotating shaft and the Hall Effect sensor detecting the angle of rotation by providing a signal (voltage output, or other…) proportional to this angel (not sure the right part at this time). Our question is if you can help us with:
- Recommend a part for us that fits a 1 degree of accuracy, is available and has a reasonable cost.
- Examples of designs using the Hall Effect and a microprocessor (Application notes,…) to generate the output signal to the customer.
- Help with selection of the magnets to use and recommended manufacturers. Magnet mounted on top of shaft as cylinder or a toroid mounted around the shaft - what is best?
- Give some ideas on cost and how to optimize the design.
- We are in the prototype stage so we will need to know where to get small quantities for this device and the detail testing we will do.
Any other comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
