Hello Scott,

There is application with 5 psi and 0-5V output, and 0 psi accuracy is critical, if I calibrate at 0-2.5-5.0 psi, there was always 0.1 psi error at 0 psi (it turns to very accurate after 0.15 psi). It works very accurately with 1-5V / 0.5-4.5V and 4-20mA output at 0 psi.

Can I calibrate 1.0-3.5-6.0 psi with ratiometric during DAC calibration, mark output 0-5 psi in EEPROM setting? or you have some other trickys.

Hi Ed,

I think the problem here is likely the same as previously, where the DAC output will not go all the way down to 0V. There will always be some minimal output. Can you adjust the output range to avoid a minimum of 0V?

Hi Scott,

This is why I consider calibrating at 1.0-3.5-6.0 V (ONT psi, typo above) with ratiometric during DAC calibration, but set EEPROM at 0-5V, will it work?

Hi Ed,

The settings in the digital EEPROM just control the normal output range that is used to determine when the clamping outputs are used. It doesn't actually affect the way that the calibration is done.

With that being said, your idea will allow you to calibrate at a different set of pressures, but it won't guarantee that the DAC output is at 0 at 0 psi. It's worth trying, though.

This trying can NOT eliminate approx. 0.1% FS error at 0 psi for 0-5V and 0-10V output, if accurate 0 psi was required, we have to use 1-5V or 1-10V instead.
