AWR1642: Questions about CAN

Hi team,

A few questions about CAN and the AWR1642:

1. Does the default pull-up and pull-down state of the GPIO of the 1642 completely depend on the hardware circuit inside the chip and cannot be configured?

2. If the combination of 1642+TCAN1042 is used, and the TXD pin of 1642 is selected as the default pull-down pin, a pull-up resistor must be added to the circuit to ensure that the level is invisible by default?

Hello,

The pull up/down state can be configured using the pinmux function Pinmux_Set_Pull. You can refer to the TRM section 27.8 for more details about the pull up/down on the GPIO.

No, you do not need to add an external pullup. You can refer to the AWR1642BOOST schematic for the hardware connections as the EVM also uses TCAN1042 PHY. When the pins are configured as CAN pins in the pinmux the internal pulls will not be active.
