Hi,

Can we, by using steering mode; increase the transmit power of the AWR1843 ?

(this parameter in the mmwave sensing sensor ) and if not is there a way to do so ?

When we enable all 3Tx the transmitting power is increased. Beam steering mode will focus the beam in one direction but will not increase the power

I didn't quite understand you told me first that When we enable all 3Tx (beam-steering) the transmitting power is increased then you told me it will just focus the beam and not increase the power ?!

Beam steering is not equivalent to enabling all 3Tx. Beam steering involves enabling the 3Tx and shifting the phase to steer the beam

yes, you are correct, but it includes enabling all 3Tx so doesn't that help increase transmitting power as well ?

Sorry for the confusion.

We can also enable the 3Tx without performing beamsteering.

In the documentation we usually call that "beamforming"

My point was that when the 3Tx are enabled, we don't get additional power when we perform beam steering.

I hope this is more clear
