IWR1443: Certificate of Accuracy or Lab Test Report

Hi,

We are using IWR1443 for level measurement of water and snow in different cases.

There is a Tender floated by Govt of Punjab,India (under National Hydrology Project) for supply of 27 Automatic Water Level Recorder where we will use IWR1443 sensor to measure Water level. In order to participate in this tender, one has to submit a certificate of accuracy of 2mm for measurement of 10m water level range. There are frequent tenders coming from various state Govt for the measurement of Water level and Snow depth with approx annual qty of 2500-5000. It would be helpful if we can get the accuracy certificate or any lab test report for reference.

Hi Ankit,

TI does not make production-level code, so you would need to build your own code on the device and have it certified. TI supplies evaluation and development code via the mmWave SDK and mmWave Industrial Toolbox.

For your application, the High Accuracy Level Sensing Lab is a good place to start.

Thanks for your reply!

Would it be possible for you to share a report containing results & accuracy data on IWR1443 evaluation board confirming that accuracy of the solution is better than 2mm for distance of 10m. As there is no certification agency in India for such solution, this report would help us convincing the tender inviting authority regarding the accuracy of solution based on IWR1443.

Looking for your earliest revert and consideration of our request.

Hi Ankit,

Like I said, we do not have anything certifying accuracy. However, the High Accuracy Level Sensing demo states the following:

And as you can see, the visualizer reports data to the 0.001m.

I have linked a few E2E threads discussing the accuracy of the IWR1443 in regards to level sensing:

Given all this, I would still recommend purchasing an EVM, collecting data, and analyzing the data to get a first-hand look at the capabilities of TI mmWave radar.
