Hi,

Good Day. I have a customer who is working with AWR1642BOOST. Please see below his query for your reference. Thank you very much.

I have the AWR1642boost radar, and the AWR6843ISK and we are trying to use the radar to measure the height of an object. I have been previous trying to use the water vs ground lab that calls for the 1443 radar but I don't have access to that radar. Is there anyway possible to use the radars I have available for this lab.

Is there anyway to measure Z-height using the AWR1642BOOST or the AWR6843ISK?

Hi,

It is possible to try to measure the height with the AWR6843ISK-ODS. However the detection may not be robust. It all depends where the reflections on the object come from

Usually what happens is that usually there are only a few reflections from the object. If these reflections do not come from the edge of the object it will not be possible to detect the height

I will try to give you little more details about the project we are working on. What we are trying to do is face the radar parallel to the ground mounted on the front of the truck and measure the distance from the radar to the road which will allow for us to measure road deterioration, pot holes and speed bumps.. etc.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay.

I think the use case is very challenging due to multiple reflections from the ground.

I recommend that the AWR1642boost evm be used with the SDK 3.5 demo.

The evm should be mounted under the track and tests should be performed
