IWR1843: Difference between IWR1843ABGABL and IWR1843AQGABL

Part Number: IWR1843
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR6843

Hi,

My customer would like to buy IWR1843 and found IWR1843ABGABL is out of stock on TI estore and  IWR1843AQGABL is available. But there is no Q info in latest datasheet.

I checked old datasheet and found info below.

Is IWR1843AQGABL the part number which IWR6843 has not passed SIL-2 certification? If yes, if customer didn't care about safety function, there is no difference between IWR1843ABGABL and IWR1843AQGABL for customer usage.

Is my understanding correct? If not, would you pls kindly advice the difference between IWR1843ABGABL and IWR1843AQGABL?

Thanks,

Chris

  • Hello Chris,

Thank you for reaching out to Texas Instruments.

This alphabet in the Device Nomenclature refers to Safety Level

    • Q = Non-Functional Safety
    • B = Functional Safety-Compliant, SIL2.

    Hope this answered your query.

    Best,
