IWR1642BOOST: Emulation package error

The traffic monitoring demo is made to work with the xwr68xx and xwr18xx,not the IWR1642 board.

Do you run into this error when you run the out of box demo for the IWR1642 in ccs?

Hi Angie,

I am using an older version of the industrial toolbox which is compatible with the IWR1642. Version 3.6.0 I believe with the matching download specifications, which says it works with the IWR16xx board in the instructions to use it.

I wasn't able to get the out-of-the-box demo to work either using the IWR1642 version. It was really plug and play with the gui for the industrial toolbox so I am not sure what is going on as it gives me a timeout error that there is not enough data which is where I moved to the ccs and found the emulator issue. I would say a good first step is getting through any errors you get with the out of box demo to make sure this isn't a hardware issue.

What is the exact timeout error and ccs error you get with the out of box demo?

I ran the out-of-the-box demo, this is the same error as I am also receiving on the other lab. Is there something else I should be looking for? This makes me think it is a hardware issue.

What can I do to fix it? How would I be able to get a replacement, I just bought it within the last month from TI so I would there should still be a warrantee on it I would imagine.

1. Picture of your set, specifically a close up of the LEDs that start glowing and where the USB is being connected.

2. Go to device manager on your computer and send me a screenshot of the connections under 'Ports (COM & LPT)'

Here are the pictures you are asking for. Only 2 LEDS lit up.

Perfect. I need you try and connect it to the mmWave Demo Visualizer on the cloud.

Follow the guidelines for Out of Box Demo. Your PC is recognizing the ports. I am trying to see if the board gets connected now.

I followed those steps and flashed my board with the mmwave file just fine. And went through this tool and took it out of flashing mode. I set my ports at Com 4:115200 and Com3:921600 and hit send config. It just sits there unconnected, I tried to look at the troubleshooting option but none of them were helpful. What do you suggest?

When flashing the board, you are changing the SOP to 101 correct?

Yes, I attached it so you can see exactly that the console when flashing the board turns out successful.

When connecting to the mmWaveDemo Visualizer, can you make sure the COM ports are defined correctly in the 'options' tab? COM4 on the left and COM 3 on the right.

Allow upto 5 minutes after sending the config file for the plots to be viewable. Only enable the scatter plot and the range profile plot. Let me know if you see the plots running

If you still dont see anything I will need you to check out the crystal clock on the board to see if its working. You will need to probe the board at the highlighted (in blue) capacitor below and look to see if its seeing a 40MHz signal.
