AWR2243: AWR2243 cascade

Part Number: AWR2243

Hi,

we're working on AWR2243P cascade integration in our own FE. We would like to ask you some questions :

Tx :

adujstable chain amplitude and reconfigurable backoff level : how and where is located the adjustable gain in the chain ?

If level is < max nominal 13dBm level : what is the phase noise (-96 dBc/Hz nominal) and amplitude noise (-145 dBc/Hz) ? Is there any degradation ?

Would you have spectral purity measurments of the 19 GHz LO ?

Rx :

How to set the variable 20dB gain ? Can we set a value or is automatic ?

Do calibration tables take into account this adjustable gain ?

 MCU_CLOCKOUT :

What is the purpose of MCU_CLOCKOUT ? Is this clock related with OSC_CLOCKOUT ?

Thanks.

Jeff

  • Hi,

Please give us some time to review your questions.

Will get back to you by early next week

    thank you

  • Hi,

The TX and RX chain parameters are configurable using APIs outlines in the Interface control document, which is part of the DFP release.

The 20GLO feed trace to secondary devices, has its spectral performance highly governed by the layout and PCB stack up.

The calibrations details and APIs are listed in the https://www.ti.com/lit/spracf4

Please take a look in the RF Gain and RF Gain target to further understand the Gain side calibration flow.

There is a provision in the  AWR2243 to feed the 40MHz clock to its secondary devices. User can decide to feed the OSC_CLK_OUT or MCU_CLK_OUT.  MCU_CLK_OUT - Optional MCU clock source. Can be used as an alternative 40 MHz source in place of OSC_CLKOUT.

    Regards

  • Hi Abhed,

Thanks for your very helpful answer.
