Hi Team,
Good day! I checked the datasheet, yes, the OUT3 of TUSS4440 marked as input pin while TUSS4470 is output pin. but could you explain the difference? as showed in the datasheet. Isn't it that OUT3 should output signal, same as TUSS4470's, kindly please help to double check if there is a mistake in the datasheet and kindly confirm if our customer use the receive path only, could they replace each other as pin to pin compatible?
Thank you so much for your support.
Best regards,
Jonathan
Hello Jonathan,
Thanks for posting to the PS forum! I apologize for the confusion but that is a typo in the datasheet so thanks for bringing that to our attention. The OUT3 pin is indeed an output for the comparator.
And yes this is correct, the difference between the two devices is in how they generate the ultrasonic signal so TUSS4440 is meant to be connected via a transformer to drive the transducer while TUSS4470 offers direct drive via the internal FETs or is also capable of driving external FETs to produce the ultrasonic signal. Besides that the receive path is the same. Let me know if they have any additional questions!
Best,
Isaac
