HDC2022: subtraction constant

Part Number: HDC2022
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HDC2080,

Hello,

A customer of mine is using one of the HDC2022/HDC2080 in their project,

They thought both device are 100% software compatible.

HDC2022 datasheet (Page 1, Description) indicate “Backward compatible with HDC2080”.

They can’t distinguish between them by reading the ID, both devices have the same “device ID”,

During working of the software they noticed a 0.5°C difference between them.

Looking at both datasheets Equation-1, there is a difference in the subtraction constant:

                HDC2022              -40

                HDC2080              -40.5

Can you please recommend how to solve this issue?

Thank you.

VL

  • Hi Victor,

Thank you for posting to the sensing forum.

The correct formula to calculate the temperature for the HDC2080 and the HDC2022 is the formula with the -40.5 (HDC2080 temperature calculation formula)

Thank you for pointing out the error in the document, we will work on getting it fixed to avoid any further confusion. In the future, there is a link on the bottom of every page of every TI document that lets you submit feedback as well as any errors that you may find. It is a quicker way to fix the document.

  • Hi Victor,

I apologize for the confusion, but my previous post is incorrect. There is a difference in the temperature equation between the HDC2022 and the HDC2080. The equations on the respective datasheets are accurate.
