Hello All,

I have problem with debugging AWR1642.

Here is the consolo log of error.

Cortex_R4_0: Trouble Writing Memory Block at 0x0 on Page 0 of Length 0x3c: (Error -1065 @ 0x3C) Unable to access device memory. Verify that the memory address is in valid memory. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK). (Emulation package 9.4.0.00129)
Cortex_R4_0: File Loader: Verification failed: Target failed to write 0x00000000
Cortex_R4_0: GEL: File: C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04\packages\ti\utils\ccsdebug\xwr16xx_ccsdebug_mss.xer4f: Load failed.

Hi,

If you are trying to debug code with CCS, please read the mmWave SDK UG:

C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04\docs\mmwave_sdk_user_guide.pdf

Section 3.2.2

Section 4.4

As mentioned in section 3.2.2. please remember that in order to use CCS you need to flash the file "C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04\packages\ti\utils\ccsdebug\xwr18xx_ccsdebug.bin"

Hi Cesar,

Thank you for help.

I read the document and I am trying to flash "xwr16xx_ccsdebug_dss.xe674" for DSS and "xwr16xx_ccsdebug_mss.xer4f" for MSS.

I can connect both core.

I can succesfully load "xwr16xx_ccsdebug_dss.xe674" toDSS .

But I can not load "xwr16xx_ccsdebug_mss.xer4f" to MSS.

And the error and consol log is in my first comment.

Please make sure you read the steps correctly.

You should NOT:

First step is to flash the file "C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04\packages\ti\utils\ccsdebug\xwr18xx_ccsdebug.bin"

Hello Cesar ,

Sorry for not fully understanding the situation.

Yes, I just saw the information that I need to install the "ccsdebug.bin" file first.
However, I can't see the exact information you mentioned.
"For CCS development mode, mmwave_sdk_<ver>\ti\ utils\ccsdebug\<platform>_ccsdebug.bin should be selected"
I didn't see any information like uploading "xwr18xx_ccsdebug.bin" to "AWR1642".
However, I tried to install both "xwr18xx_ccsdebug.bin" and "xwr16xx_ccsdebug.bin" with "UNIFLASH".

I entered the correct port numbers of the XDS110 debugger.However, there is still an error while uploading.

The SOP setting is set to 101.

Sorry, if you are using the AWR1642 you should flash "xwr16xx_ccsdebug.bin"

Hello Cesar,

We pulled all the debug pins on the AWR1642Boost. but I could not load the program with UNIFLASH. Later, we also pulled the RS232 pins and successfully uploaded the program.

However, we have always been trying to debug with external XDS110 until now. XDS110 does not have an RS232 connection like on AWR1642BOOST.

I saw that there was a UART in the AUX connection of XDS110, I tried it from there, but we couldn't load it again. Also, the pins used by the UART on the AUX and the pins it uses on the AWR1642BOOST are different from each other. I think a different firmware is installed on the debugger on the AWR1642BOOST.

Is there something we missed?

It seems that you are using a custom board not AWR1642BOOST

What are the differences between the custom board and the BOOST board?

Hello,

You can't flash using the XDS110 emulator.

You need to use an FTDI to USB serial cable like this connected to the RS232 pins.
