AWR1843: Setting mode.

Part Number: AWR1843

About voltage mode

Please tell me how to set each mode of 1.8V and 3.3V with the power supply of CMOS installed in AWR18430.

About clock module

Please tell me how to set XTAL mode and External clock mode.

Is it okay to recognize that it is xTAL mode that crystal vibration is required in XTAL modex External, clock mode?

  • Hi,

Please give us some time to review your questions

Will get back to you by end of next week

    Thank you
    Cesar

  • Hi,

We recommend you check the mmWave SDK soc driver

    Thank you

  • Hello,

If you are referring to the Digital IO voltage, you do not need to do anything to set it. If you provide 3.3V, the IO will operate in 3.3V mode. If you provide 1.8V, the IO will operate in 1.8V mode. There is no configuration required, you just need to apply the desired voltage to the pins.

Please refer to the datasheet for how to use XTAL vs external clock mode.

    Regards,

    Adrian

  • Thank you for the detailed explanation of 3.3 V mode and 1.8 V mode.
Which pins do you specifically need to supply 3.3 V and 1.8 V?

According to what I've heard, the AWR1843 can't be driven without supplying voltage to the four power pins of 3.3 V, 1.8 V, 1.2 V, and 1.0 V.

I'm also aware of the crystal issue.
If you don't use the internal APLL, it can be confusing, so you should use XTAL mode, right?

  • Please refer to the datasheet for the power pins. Everything is clearly listed in the datasheet.

I am not sure what you are referring to regarding internal APLL. The device requires a 40MHz clock source. Again, please refer to the datasheet and the EVM schematics.

    Regards,

    Adrian
