AWR1642: SPI Flash support for WINBOND “W25Q32JVSSSQ”

Part Number: AWR1642

We would like to use WINBOND “W25Q32JVSSSQ” flash as 2rd source, but it is not in the supported flash parts for AWR1642 ES2.0.

Since we have tried to mount the WINBOND “W25Q32JVSSSQ” flash in our board, but it cannot work.

1. Does AWR1642 ES2.0 support it?

2. If YES, any settings should be modified?

3. If NO, will it support in future?

Below supported flash parts capture from "IWR6x43 Flash Variants Supported by the mmWave Sensor (Rev. C)".

Please give me some time to study the compatibility of this flash part with AWR1642 ES2.0 and I shall get back to you with my insights early next week.

Also just FYI, there are no further planned updates for AWR1642 ES2.0.

For you information, I had tested W25Q16JVUXIQ and it works as the QE is setting by factory default.

Hi Kuowei,

My suggestion to you is to try SBL first, to see if it can successful boot with SBL image. And also, you can try to use external QSPI FLASH programmer to set the QE bit =1.

Then, please comments the re-store calibration part in SDK demo which request matched QSPI driver, then tried if SDK demo can also works.

Based on the timing specs, W25Q32JV is compatible with AWR1642.
