PGA970: Watchdog timer

Part Number: PGA970

Hi Scott,

I have managed to lock my development PGA970 into a loop. I was testing my Watchdog Timer code and found that the WDT reset appears to inhibit my XDS200 from communicating with the processor.

Now the processor is resetting it's self every 100ms. Is there any way I can get out of this or will I have to scrap the processor? This would be a shame as they are rather rare at the moment.

Also, is there any prospect of the processor coming back into production any time soon as our production stocks are getting low?

Best regards,

Nigel

  • Hi Nigel,

Do you have any way to communicate with the device through SPI through the GUI? You could try to place the micro in reset and reprogram the FRAM through SPI instead. I've attached a hex file of all zeroes that you can use if you are able to stop the microcontroller.

Have you worked with a TI sales representative to place your orders for the PGA970 in the past? If so, please reach out to them to place an order as quickly as possible. This will help to get an idea of the demand and allow us to prioritize the production accordingly.

    Regards,

    Scott
