IWR1642: Change the range accuracy in the high accuracy demo lab

Hello,

I need the sensor to detect an object with an range accuracy of ~1mm. The object is placed at 31cm from the sensor, and now I am loading the high_accuracy_demo_16xx.cfg file, but I get this on the visualizer:

The range resolution is of 0.044m so I have an error of 4cm, when i need it to be accuracy of 1mm.

What do I need to change of the .cfg file to get that accuracy?

Hi,

This is due to the slight delay in the RF front end chain. This is not corrected in the visualizer, but if you calibrate the value to ground truth, you should see accurate results as the distance changes over time.

Then, how can I calibrate the value?

Hi,

Measure a known distance, and then look at the delta between the measurement and the known distance, and apply that delta to future measurements.

Doesn't this issue appear if visualiser is not used?
