AWR1843BOOST: Raw data format for TDM MIMO configuration collected using DCA 1000 EVM

Part Number: AWR1843BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1843

Hi!

I want to ask how raw data passed via LVDS lanes from AWR1843 BOOST + DCA 1000 EVM is formatted? By that, I mean in cases when 2 Tx-4Rx or 3Tx-4Rx configuration is used, does the chirp data is interleaved e.g., for 2 Tx - 4 Rx case, do Tx-1 chirp-1 raw data is passed then Tx2- chirp1 and so on or a complete Tx-1 frame-1 raw data is passed followed by Tx-2 frame data and so on.?

As far as, I have understood, Tx's are working in TDM fashion, so data format should be the former one which is data received sent on LVDS lanes via the ethernet cable should be [Tx-1 chirp-i, Tx-2 chirp-i, Tx3-chirp-i, Tx-1 chirp-(i+1), Tx-2 chirp-(i+1), Tx-3 chirp (i+1), and so on]

Lastly, I want to ask in which order the transmitters work? Does Tx1 works then Tx-2 works and then Tx-3 works?

Let me know if any clarification is required.

Thanks

  • Hi,

For the format of LVDS data please see the mmWave Studio UG, Section 25

    C:\ti\mmwave_studio_03_00_00_14\docs\mmwave_studio_user_guide.pdf

The order of transmitters depends on the definition in the chirp configuration

The Tx enabled for each chirp is defined in the configuration

    Thank you
