I need help getting started with the IWR6843ISK and MMWAVEICBOOST.

Request provide the link to training material or videos and some sample code or configurations.

Im new to TI boards/software, so dont mind having detailed directions to begin with.

Hi,

I would recommend you start on TI Resource Explorer, which can be found by going to dev.ti.com and clicking Resource Explorer.

Once there, go to Software->mmWave Sensors->mmWave Industrial Toolbox. I recommend you download and install this package. If you're unsure how to do this, you can go open the Industrial Toolbox in resource explorer and go to Documentation->Readme and follow the instructions Install mmWave Industrial Toolbox via web browser. This package contains many pieces of documentation, as well as labs which have their own source code and visualizers for various different use cases.

Once that's done (or if you would prefer to just read it from Resource Explorer), you can go to the toolbox and go to Labs->Out of Box Demo and follow the user guide listed there. That should contain all steps and links necessary to get started with your evaluation.

Hi.

Thanks for the guidance. Do the examples and code work on Macbook m1 laptop. Will be stuck it it doesn't.

Hi,

The tools such as CCS and Uniflash should work on a macbook. There is no specific testing done on the mmWave industrial toolbox to ensure comptatibility on Mac, but I do not expect you will encounter issues. Feel free to open a thread on here if you encounter any specific issues.

Looking around, I understand mmwave Studio doesnt work on mac OS. Correct me if Im wrong.

Hi,

I believe this is correct. Are you doing raw ADC data capture for your use case? mmWave Studio is typically only needed in that scenario.

Hi Alec,

Im not doing raw ADC data capture.

I have IWR6843ISK-ODS and MMWAVEICBOOST boards. Im looking at getting started with sample codes, for example object detection and dynamic object movement.

Can you please advise.

Do I need to install mmwave SDK? Again does it work on Mac?

Hi,

In order to run the out of box demo, you should not need the mmWave SDK. Once you want to modify/develop your own source code for the device, it will be needed. For OS compatibility, please refer to the SDK product page.

Referred to SDK product page only to find support to Windows and Linux OS.

Is there a possibility for Mac OS compatibility in the near future. It would be great if it comes.

Hi,

I do not believe this is planned at this time. Since only one non-mac computer would be needed for development (to execute builds), I don't think this has been a significant problem previously, but we can put more consideration into that going forward.
