DRV5021: Error '1004' in Magnetic Sensing Proximity Tool (Rev. D)

Hi Isaac, 

Thank you for the information. 

I asked customer tried the file you sent on above link. And I found there was newer version(D->E) on TI.com so I also asked customer to try it. But still both came out the same message I showed in my post above. 

The same message also happened to me when I tried to open the file you shared so maybe it is not excel version related issue? 

Could you help confirm where else we should check? Please let me know if you need more information from customer. Such as operation system version, etc.

More information here, the same error occurred when I tried to enable macro with the file you shared. 

After that, another error happened when I selected "Magnet Movement".

Did you obtain the same error message when you attempted to open the tool that is up on the web in your computer?

Are you also using MS 365 or do you have the actual software installed in your system?

Can you provide both yours and the customer version of Windows? I know you said customer was using 32 bit is your version 64 bit?

It worked without problem for me with E version Tool on TI.com. 

My system is 64bit, Microsoft Windows 10 Pro and version is 10.0.19044. Excel version is 2019, actual software installed in my system. 

I'm confirming customer's Windows version, I'll let you know when I get it.

Just want to double check, does the tool proved working with 32bit Windows?

Hello Jo,

Thats great to hear it worked out in your system, that is a similar version the tool was created in so I am not surprised you didnt have any issues on your end.

We do not have a 32 bit version of Windows to test out the tool so we are currently not aware if it operates well in this version. We have not gotten any threads on this so far so I do not have much feedback for performance on 32bit systems.

Hey Hung,

Has your customer attempted hitting the "Clear" button on row 50?  It could be that certain important variables were not initialized at start up, depending on when macros were enabled.  The "clear" button removes all menu entries and re-runs the function for defining certain variables used in the code.

Marco is enabled before he opens the excel file and the error occurs right after he opens the excel file. He didn't hit any button and input anything to excel. 

BTW, just for your information, customer wasn't able to install "Pspice for TI" before due to security management in their company. 

I'm not sure if this is related, but will it help to enable "Trust access to VBA project object model"? 

• Start Microsoft Excel
• On the Menu Bar select "File" > "[Excel] Options" > "Trust Center" > "Trust Center Settings..." > "Macro Settings"
• In the top section, select the radio button for "Disable all macros with notification"
• In the bottom section, check the box for "Trust access to VBA project object model"
• Click "OK" and "OK" to save the settings
• Close Excel

Thanks for providing that information.  I do not have "Trust access to VBA project object model" selected on my computer, yet mine still works.

Is the version of the tool he is running never been run before (by you or himself).  I did get a similar error message after one successful run for certain tool entries.  This is related to certain cells getting overwritten.

Please forget "Trust access to VBA project object model", I didn't select it and it worked for me too, I just thought maybe it is security related due to customer's computer setting. 

Like I mentioned earlier, customer got the error message right after he opened the file before entering anything.
