AWR2243: Did TI just discontinue the AWR2243P?

Part Number: AWR2243

We received notice from digikey that the AWR2243P is discontinued and I couldn't find it on TI's 2243 page anymore as well.

Is this true? Only the normal AWR2243 (37.5MHz rather than 45MHz sample rate) available?

May I know the reason of this?

Thanks,

  • Please give me some time to find out more information

    thank you

  • Hi,

I have more information from marketing team:

Yes, TI decided to retire the part number AWR2243P. Going forward, TI has decided to have a single part number only: AWR2243(non-P) which will support cascade feature and other key specs list below.

Key changes – RF specifications for AWR2243(non-P)

    1. Noise figure = 12dB
    2. IF BW = 20 MHz
    3. A2D sampling rate (Real/ Complex 2x) = 45 MSPS
    4. A2D sampling rate (Complex 1x) = 22.5 MSPS
    5. Cascade (20-GHz sync)  = Yes

We have completed the internal part number change process and also validated the operation of cascade features on the non-P part number. We will soon be updating the AWR2243 datasheet on TI.com as well.

We don’t except this change to be a concern for the customers who are currently using the “P” part as we have now enabled the key cascade features on the non-P part.

More importantly, this change will help us to better support the demand on AWR2243.

Please move to the non-P part:

      • AWR2243APBGABLQ1 to AWR2243ABGABLQ1
      • AWR2243APBGABLRQ1 to AWR2243ABGABLRQ1

    Thank you

    Cesar

  • This info is really helpful, good to know the sate of art RFIC is still in production.

    Thanks.
