BOOSTXL-TUSS4440: IO_MODE1 and IO_MODE2 recovery

Part Number: BOOSTXL-TUSS4440

Hi,

I've two BOOSTXL-TUSS4440 development boards. I've the fist one programmed with IO_MODE1 and transmitting constantly. The second one is in receive only mode. I'd like to recover burst frequency ie. IO_MODE1 on receiver. Is there a way I can view it in GUI? Also, when I change transmitter to IO_MODE2 pattern, I'd like to recover it in receiver as well. Any suggestion on how to achieve would be very helpful. Thanks.

Basically, I'm looking for a way to recover burst patterns that transmitter send out.

  • Hello Inya,

Thanks for posting to the sensing forum! The GUI will only allow you to have one device connected to the PC so you will have to run each board on a separate PC in order to view the data you are receiving in the GUI.

As far as recovering the burst frequency or patterns transmitted using IO_MODE = 2 could be kind of difficult. I have not done any testing on this but if the pulses are too close to each other your receiver might not be able to distinguish between each pulse. Reason being is that as the pulses are sent out and received the echo does not have enough time to decay before the next pulse arrives, if you pulse to quickly they bunch up and received echo looks like one single large pulse.

I believe you will have to do some testing in order to check how much you need to space or delay each pulse so that it may be viewable on the receiver as separate bits in your pulse pattern.

    I hope this helps!

    Best,

    Isaac
