Could you help our customer's concern below. I'm posting this in behalf of the customer.
Our team just brought a new AWR2944EVM for a mmWave project. And When doing the OOB demo provided by mmWave SDK, it cannot perform normally when connected with a DCA1000EVM Data Capture Board with LVDS Based Instrumentation.
I followed the Instructions on the mmwave_mcuplus_sdk_user_guide and the instructions are now clear enough. As you can see in the picture, although the section main title is AWR294x, the content is about the AM273x. I tried to follow the steps and the DCA1000EVM can start to record, but there is no data transferring from radar. The radar is not working at all under this setup. Here is what I did: Before connecting AWR2944EVM and DCA1000EVM, the radar was flashed with am273x_mmw_demoTDMLVDS.appiamge.
Connect AWR2944EVM and DCA1000EVM following the instructions on AWR2944EVM user guide. For AWR2944EVM, I connected the 12V power and J10 FTDI_USB (later tried J8 XDS_USB). The SOP mode setting is SOP(2:0) 001. For DCA1000EVM, I connected the 5V power and Ethernet cable. And set the switches followed by the AWR2944EVM user guide.
Open the visualizer, cannot establish hardware connection due to no J8 connection and no serial port showed up Followed the step 4.4.1.3-4.4.14, the command prompt status the DCA1000EVM is waiting for data. After few seconds, the record session ended with no data transferred. The first problem is that under LVDS based connection, don't know which USB port should be used. J8 or J10? Neither of them were not working. Second problem is that when using LVDS based connection, how to use mmwave studio CLI tool to transer data from radar to PC. After reading some corresponding user guides, still got confused. I have found this case on your forum AWR2944EVM: Data capture with AWR2944EVM and DCA1000 boards.. That person had the mainly same problem I have got.
But the solution is not useful to me. Could tell me how to run the OOB demo with LVDS-based instrumentation? Also how to configure the radar and then capture data using data capture board? Thanks!
