Does the FDC2212 have an input clock buffer that can support directly a TCXO clipped sine wave output

or does this signal need to be converted beforehand in CMOS ?

Eric,

The reference clock input needs to be driven by a voltage-source equivalent per the specs given in the data sheet.
It cannot be driven directly by a crystal.
