Hi Team,
The datasheet says "The DAP may be soldered to a floating pad on the board, but the board pad should NOT be connected to GND".
But in our board the pad have been connected to GND.
What kind of problem will occur?

Hi Tom,
Leaving the thermal pad floating can help minimize thermal mass for heater efficiency or for measuring accurate ambient temperature measurements.
Connecting the thermal pad to GND will prevent the necessary temp rise when the heater is powered on.

Hi Pavani,
Thank you for your reply.
However I am not sure if I know your meaning.
Do you mean the DAP can be connected to GND?
Datasheet says DAP shouldn't be connected to GND so I just want to know the reason.

Hi Tom,
The DAP can be connected to GND but it will give you incorrect temperature measurements if you plan on using the heater. If you do not plan on using the heater, then your design should be okay.
