AWR2944EVM: Can I flash AWR2944 and then enter the functional mode without changing SOP jumper settings?

Dear support team,

We want to pull in the AWR2944EVM board to our automated system where the board is flashed regularly and it starts to function on every power cycle.

Can we do this without having to change the SOP jumper settings every time we flash the processor? Or any tips to handle this scenario?

Hi,

How do you plan to flash the EVM?

If you flash the EVM from the application using the QSPI driver than there is no need to change the SOP jumper

Thanks for the answer.

We are not planning to develop a flash programming application. So the plan was to use XDS_USB interface, but only if we can work-around the SOP jumper issue.

With the XDS_USB interface you would not be able to work around the SOP jumper issue.

In order to avoid SOP jumper, one needs to be always in function mode. Therefore application should use QSPI driver to program flash.

I have assigned this expert to our HW expert to check if there are any other options.

Hello Hwanjoon,

You cannot switch between the boot modes (flashing mode and functional mode) without changing the SOP lines and rebooting the radar device. There is no workaround for that.
