IWR6843ISK: Why is there a performance difference between pre_built image provided by ti and image obtained by building with CCS?

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR6843

I'm going to start analyzing the mss and dss codes, and I want to check if they are stable.

However, two image files represent different results.

my files version is

     toolbox             : mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_11_0

     mmwave SDK  : mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04

     CCS                 : 10.4.0.00006

1)  the traffic monitoring program provided by ti often dies when tested with images obtained by building with CCS.

But When i test with prebuilt images, they do not disappear in most cases.

2)   And when using images obtained by building with CCS, more point cloud data is generated in one object.

Could you tell me the difference between these two image files?

  • Hi,

The prebuilt binary should match what is output by CCS using the projectspec included with the demo. On another thread, you mentioned that the prebuilt bin for Traffic Monitoring on 6843 appeared to have been generated by version 4.5.1 of the industrial toolbox, how did you determine this? We are looking into the recent changes that may have impacted the performance of the Traffic Monitoring lab, so this info is very helpful in our debug.

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your reply.

    1)  Tests using the traffic monitoring program provided by ti program was performed simply by waving to the iwr6843 disk board.

    2)  The test conducted using the program we developed was mainly conducted to detect pedestrians and vehicles.

2 Test result is almost same.

Using images obtained by building with CCS, more point cloud data is generated in one object.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

Thank you for the feedback. I will use the other thread that you have open to resolve your current issues, and we will investigate issues with the Traffic Monitoring labs in the current toolbox to try to get it resolved for future versions.

    Best Regards,
    Alec
