TIDEP-01012: Radar API -Sensor Configuration Unable to perform

Hello Team,

I am unable to perform Sensor configuration from SensorConfig tab for all the four Radar devices. Can you please help me to do so ? Is there any detailed document present on the same topic other than mmwave_cascade user guide. I am new to mmWave studio, finding challenges to set triggers for master and slave devices.

Please help to get detailed procedure to make the module working ,so that I can capture the data and process the same.

  • Hi,

       Presuming you are using MMWCAS-DSP-EVM + MMWCAS-RF-EVM, the mmwave_cascade user guide is the correct document to refer. 

    You may also refer the scripts which are there inside the studio folder to understand the configuration and trigger flow.

  • Hello, Yes I am using MMWCAS-DSP-EVM + MMWCAS-RF-EVM, also mmwave_cascade user guide I am refering also. However  the section 7.2 Device configuration talks about 

    The other configuration API’s are similar to the sequence followed in single chip apart from the frame configuration (refer to the next point for frame configuration). These API’s can be given by selecting all the devices from the checkbox.

    which I am not able to follow to configure the device using Sensor config, I am unable to set software trigger for master and hardware trigger for slave. It is getting failed. 

    If I am not wrong unless i do this I can't capture and visualize the data. So I stuck at the same point.  Unable to move further.

    Also If you any Team in India who is working on Imaging radar, please share contact details I will get in touch with them directly.

            Then you are flashing the wrong firmware and using the wrong mmwavestudio. Please switch to latest DFP and latest mmwavestudio.

  • I am using mmWave Studio 2.1.0 and mmwave_dfp_01_02_05_01

  • if this not correct ,please suggest the correct versions of both

  • Hi,

          The kit is of Rev E hence it has AWR2243 on it and not AWR1243. So you need to use the MMWAVE studio and DFP for AWR2243.

    Do I need to configure all the APIs ? Or am I missing some steps?

  • Hi,

                 Yes you need to set the Static configuration, Data path config and then the sensor config of all the devices.

    Only then you would be able to trigger the devices.

                  Please send me the studio log file. Complete log from SOP config till trigger error. I recommend you try all the steps manually first or from inbuilt studio scripts and then try to run custom scripts.

                I see lot of critical failures in API issuance like chirp config and data path config. Can you please check what are you setting?

    I would recommend to first do a default configuration manually at your setup and then move to any scripts.
